Modena and Emilia

Emilia is the land of quality and hard work, and Modena is world-famous for its automobiles and motorcycles, its opera singers and – above all – Emilian wine.
When it comes to cars, we immediately think of Ferrari, for singing our thoughts turn to the late maestro Luciano Pavarotti and, as for wine, Lambrusco is undoubtedly paramount, along with white wines with a solid tradition behind them.
It was in Modena that this great wine originated and in its taverns in the mid-nineteenth century, Lambrusco was served in a semi-sparkling version (in which the second fermentation took place in bottle).
Today this technique is an exception.
Over time, it has been replaced by re-fermentation in pressurized tanks.
